When's in Life
When I graduate from high school.
When I get married.
When I have children.
When my babies become teenagers.
When my teenagers leave the house.
When my children get married.
When my grandchildren come along.
When my spouse dies.
When…
When…
When…

We spend so much of our lives thinking about what hasn’t happened yet.
And then…
👉 the WHEN comes.
________________________________________
Life is not about if things will happen.
👉 It’s about WHEN they happen.
And the real question becomes:
How will we respond when they do?

Every one of us has experienced many WHENs in life—and if we’re honest, they rarely play out the way we imagined.
Some are joyful.
Some are painful.
Some completely catch us off guard.

Recently, I walked through a family situation I never thought would happen.
And when it did… it brought a flood of emotions:
Anger.
Sadness.
Empathy.
Peace.
Agitation.
Confusion.
Hurt.
Forgiveness.
And then more thoughts followed…
Blame.
Rationalizing.
Resentment.
Justifying.
Replaying the past.
You know what I mean—you’ve been there too.

But then… God.

Right in the middle of the emotional spiral, I was stopped.
Redirected.
Reminded.
👉 He is the only one who can guide me through the WHENs of life.

God will never forsake me.
He will lead me through the dark moments.
His Word becomes the light I desperately need when everything feels uncertain.
And when I bring my thoughts honestly to Him—He begins to heal what feels broken.

These verses became a lifeline to me:
“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you…”
— Isaiah 43:2–3 NLT

God’s Word is a healing balm to my soul.
When I sit with it—when I let it sink deep—it begins to clean out the wounds, the infection, the bitterness.
It does something inside of me that I can’t fully explain…
👉 But I know it works.

As I spend time with God:
The chaos quiets.
The bitterness loosens.
The peace returns.

And then I’m reminded again:
“I am the Lord… there is no other Savior.”
“I will make a pathway through the wilderness…”
— Isaiah 43

God builds us back up through His Word.
Especially in the WHENs we didn’t see coming.
